This year the first time Russian Canadian Festival will be held in the heart of downtown Toronto – on Dundas & Yonge Square on June 27th, 2010.
That’s going to be the 2nd day of G20 Summit held at Toronto’s Convention Centre. And we are expecting thousands guests from different countries including press, officials and tourists!
Six Russian Cultural Festivals “Russian Carousel” were held from 2002 to 2007 on Mel Lastman Square in North York and were a success. The festivals were attended by over 10,000 people, who enjoyed performances by Russian entertainers and participated in various family activities for two days.
The Embassy of Russian Federation in Canada, Russia Federal Agency for Tourism, YYZ Travel/Canadian Gateway and Canada-Russia Association of Tourism, Culture and Sport have been presenting Russia at the annual Canadian Tulip Festival since 2007 in Ottawa celebrating international friendship and hosting about 125, 000 each year at the renowned International Pavilion.
The combined efforts of Russian Carousel, NTV Canada, Embassy of Russian Federation in Canada, Russia Federal Agency for Tourism, YYZ Travel/Canadian Gateway and Canada-Russia Association of Tourism, Culture and Sport have resulted in the new event and everyone is invited to join!
The program will be featuring exciting street and on-stage performances by singers, dancers, comedians and rock bands, traditional Russian food and drinks provided by the community’s delicatessen stores and restaurants, original souvenirs and books from Russia.
Talents representing Russian-speaking community from all over Canada will make this Russian Festival - a day to remember!
